Neon Guitars

Gary Hutchins from Hutchins Guitars has collaborated with Sussex born artist Darren West, to form HUTCHINS & WEST and have created a new stunning and evocative art piece. Using one of Gary’s Memphis bass Guitars, Darren has worked alongside him to create ‘Carnaby`, a one off bespoke design amalgamating some of the most eye catching ideas the art world has seen. With atmospheric and authentic looking graffiti scrawl perfectly placed along the bottom of the instrument, our eyes work their way up and are rewarded with a 3D protruding female face. This was supplied by London based artist and Milliner to the stars Piers Atkinson, who designs and creates fashion pieces for many celebrities and clients include Lady Ga Ga and Riahanna. The head has been painted with burlesque style make-up and with the perfectly placed beauty spots, glittering eye make up and Moulin Rouge styled pink Mohican hair, this is a real eye catching feature. An Urban theme then surrounds the top of the Guitar with interesting trinkets and miniature models it allows our eyes to wander enthusiastically around the instrument in a thought provoking and excitable child like manner. There are so many things to look at on this engaging art piece and you cant help to be amazed when the neon is lit up and how alive and lustrous this guitar has become. At the top of the Guitar is an expertly carved London skyline which stretches along the arm of the instrument. Achieved using Chrome, the neon reflects effortlessly providing yet more for our eyes to be excited by. To conclude, Gary Hutchins and Darren West have produced an amazing modern twist to the Guitar form resulting in a stunning, eye catching piece which is sure to light up any room with its unique glow and attention-grabbing themes.
